Take a Bite Out of Global Warming
When the cold finally sets in (unless you're lucky enough to have warmth all year long) and the garden has given you all it can, it’s time for you to close-up shop and do a little prep work for next year.  These tasks could involve: uprooting old stalks, turning the soil again, mixing in some more manure, turning the compost, etc.

See Organic Gardening’s Fall Clean-up Guide for more tips.

This is also a good time to evaluate your growing season while it’s still fresh in your mind.  Was there anything you grew too much of?  Not enough?  Was your garden too big?  Too small?  If you are interested in joining a community garden or CSA next year, now is the time to start looking into them and securing a plot or share for the upcoming growing season.  Finally, give yourself a congratulatory pat on the back!  You did it!  Now go enjoy your delicious, locally grown, seasonal, organic fruits and vegetables!
